Superwog is an original sketch comedy duo created by Sydney based brothers Theo and Nathan Saidden. The duo uploaded their first videos to YouTube in 2008 and since then they have had an incredible 476+Million YouTube views and more than 3.4+Million subscribers. The Superwog Channel has gone from strength to strength whilst breaking records, earning awards and becoming one of Australia’s most loved and watched YouTube channels.
Theodore and Nathan Saidden developed an interest in scripted comedy and acting early whilst attending Sydney’s Trinity Grammar school, in particular the work of Monty Python, Sacha Baron Cohen and Chris Lilley. Superwog performed their first ever live stage show in 2013 to sold out crowds at Melbourne International Comedy Festival, this was just the beginning of the duos hugely successful touring career. Since then they have presented numerous live shows across the country in front of devoted and hard core fans who get to see their favourite characters come to life on stage.
Superwog were chosen to be part of Google & Screen Australia’s Skip Ahead initiative in 2016 which gives YouTube creators the opportunity to branch into long form video. Through this initiative Superwog released their first feature length episode debuting in July 2017. The pilot immediately shot to the #1 trending spot on YouTube (Australia), it hit a staggering 1 million views in a little over three days with audiences from all over the globe tuning in. The 2017 Pilot episode also picked up an AACTA Award nomination for Best Online Video in and won the Junkee Award for Video of the year.
The popularity of the pilot episode was such a success a full series was commissioned delighting fans. In October 2018 the 6 part, long form series hit mainstream television, available on ABC Comedy, ABC iView and (of course) on YouTube. The series consistently hit the #1 trending position and reached a staggering 15+Million views online.
Superwog hit the top of the charts yet again in 2019 as YouTube revealed the top watched videos in Australia that year. Superwog won the comedy category with ‘Going to the gym’, which raked up over 11+Million views.
Hot off the back of the hugely successful new series Superwog completed their biggest national tour yet in 2019, hitting all the major cities and smaller towns across Australia and New Zealand with an outrageously hilarious live show.
Superwog continue to release videos on their YouTube channel and are currently writing their next project.
